Teacher Assistant (Primary Grades) - Holy Family Catholic Academy - Inverness - Vicariate I
Primary Function
The classroom teacher assistant is responsible for helping students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, responsible adults under the direction of the classroom teacher/team.
Key Relationships
- Reports to the principal
- Supervised by the principal
- Works with the assistant principal
- Works with the grade level team
- Works with the assigned teacher
Qualifications And Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree- preferred
- A High School Degree- required
- Ability to teach appropriate grade-level curriculum
- Ability to establish collaborative relationships with the assigned teacher or grade-level teaching staff

- Possesses the ability to work tactfully and effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents
- Displays evidence of an educational philosophy in agreement with that of Holy Family Catholic Academy
- Displays an ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents

- Utilizes effective instructional strategies with students
- Manages the students in a positive manner, respecting the dignity of all

- Is punctual and effective in duties such as: morning supervision, hallway supervision, lunch supervision, after-school supervision, and curb or bus duty
Physical Demands and Environment
- Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
- Use of technical equipment such as laptop computers, overhead projectors, and whiteboards
- Walk up and down stairs
- Outdoor classroom environment

Compensation
This position has an hourly range of $15.50-$16.50. An employee’s pay within the range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
