Middle High School Latin Teacher

About the role
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Catholic Middle/High School Latin teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for up to 4 afternoon hours per week at our center in Lapeer, Michigan. The position is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided.
Hours are Mondays and Thursdays 9:30am–4:15pm. Lesson plans and curriculum are provided. Teachers must be willing to prepare for classes at home and come to class prepared to teach in a highly structured environment.
No additional vacation days are given (accommodations made for sick days as needed). Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
Responsibilities
- Teach Latin to middle and high school students in a classical, Catholic classroom setting
- Follow provided curriculum and grading guidelines
- Prepare for classes at home and deliver instruction in a highly structured environment
- Manage classroom according to Regina Caeli Academy standards
Requirements
- Deep love for the Catholic faith and living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life
- Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness
- Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship
- Standard computer skills (Google Suite or equivalent preferred)
- All staff complete a background check and training
Qualifications
- No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required
- Experience homeschooling, working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching your own children, or teaching in a classical or private school is a plus
