Middle-High School Latin Teacher

About the role

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Catholic Middle/High School Latin teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom at our center in Nashville, Tennessee. You do not need a teaching certification or formal teaching experience to apply. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Responsibilities

• Teach Latin in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays between 8:30 am and 3:15 pm.
• Prepare for classes at home and arrive prepared to teach in a highly structured environment.
• Follow provided curriculum and grading guidelines.
• Manage classroom instruction and student behavior according to RCA standards.

Requirements

• Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Must have a deep love for the Catholic faith and live it day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to your state in life.
• Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or an equivalent.

Preferred Experience

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
• Ministry in a Catholic parish.
• Teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
• Teaching your own children.
• Teaching in a classical or private school.

Schedule

• Class days: Mondays and Thursdays between 8:30 am and 3:15 pm.
• Positions are hourly.
• Childcare/nursery is provided.
• No additional vacation days are given (accommodations made for sick days as needed).
