Mid to Senior Level CEI Inspector

About the role

Neel-Schaffer is a design firm with offices in nine states, offering a dynamic environment where collaboration, innovation, and professional growth are valued. This position is available in Starkville or Columbus, MS, and involves skilled Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) field work.

Responsibilities

• Act as a lead inspector on Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) roadway and other transportation or site-civil construction projects
• Use SiteManager efficiently and keep neat and thorough notes relative to inspection and documentation of a construction project
• Complete all tasks related to typical highway and bridge inspections
• Work independently or as part of a team, providing inspection on bridge or roadway projects as needed
• Preferred experience inspecting MDOT projects, though not required

Requirements

• Five to 10 years of experience in CEI on roadway and transportation construction projects
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Travel may be required
• Basic computer skills

Qualifications

• Preferred certifications include:
• • American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) – Traffic Control Supervisor
  • ACI Field Testing Grade Technician – Grade 1
  • MDOT Stormwater Inspection Certification
