Mid-Sr. Network Engineer TS/SCI Poly

About the role

Leidos is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Network Engineer to join a highly performing agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. The position supports a large, complex, fast-paced program with DEVOPS best practices and robust development, test, and production environments. The role involves creating and maintaining network documentation, providing enterprise network support, managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs), and testing and installing new capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain network documentation ensuring clear, concise, and accurate information for incident resolution.
• Provide enterprise network support, collaborating with IT service provider teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Manage information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with System Security Plans.
• Propose, design, test, and install new capabilities within the network environment.
• Oversight of the development and maintenance of technical data such as rack elevations, installation instructions, and other as-built designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with at least 8 years of related experience.
• At least 5 years of in-depth experience with hardware/software from Cisco Systems and Palo Alto Systems.
• In-depth experience with routers, switches, and firewalls, including IP subnetting, VLANs, and the OSI layers.
• Experience with various vendor networking products (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.) and physical mediums like copper and fiber.
• Ability to respond to operational issues off-duty on an on-call basis.
• Clearance required: TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and at least 8 years of related experience.
• Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Must have at least 5 years of in-depth experience with hardware/software from Cisco Systems and Palo Alto Systems.
• Must have experience providing analysis, root cause diagnosis, and troubleshooting for routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Must have an in-depth understanding of IP subnetting, VLANs, and the OSI layers.
• Must have in-depth experience with various vendor networking products (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.).
• Must have a solid understanding of different physical mediums such as copper and single mode/multimode fiber and physical connector types (RJ11, RJ45, LC, SC, ST, etc.).
• Must be able to respond to operational issues while off duty, on an on-call basis.
• Must have experience with KG-175 and/or KG-250/KG-255 configuration and deployment.
• Experience with VINE/GEM One, SolarWinds or other similar network monitoring applications, configuration and monitoring tools, VMWare 7 or higher usage and network configuration, Cisco, Nexus/ Catalyst/ ASA/ ISR/XE/ ASA/Firepower, ISE, McAfee Sidewinder, Palo Alto, Juniper, F5, IPSEC, NAT, SCP, TFTP, BGP, vPC, OLT/PON, TCP MTU/MSS adjustments, and security technologies like reverse proxies, cross domain solutions, and load balancers is preferred.

Skills

• Experience with Cisco, Nexus/ Catalyst/ ASA/ ISR/XE/ ASA/Firepower, ISE, McAfee Sidewinder, Palo Alto, Juniper, F5, IPSEC, NAT, SCP, TFTP, BGP, vPC.
• Understanding of security using technologies as reverse proxies, cross domain solutions, and load balancers.
