Responsibilities
- Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings
- Draft and argue motions
- Take and defend depositions
- Defend employers in complex wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions in state and federal courts throughout California
- Manage written discovery and prepare key motions, including class certification and decertification
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience
- Substantial experience litigating claims under the California Labor Code, the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- Proven ability to manage matters from inception through resolution
- Comfortable developing a strategy in PAGA representative actions and analyzing core wage and hour compliance issues
- Excellent academic credentials and strong writing and analytical skills
- Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility and adaptability are preferred
