Security clearance: TS/SCI with both Polygraphs is required. Location: Ft. Meade, Maryland.
About the role
Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution. Supports escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Supports the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems; installs/loads operating system software; troubleshoots; maintains integrity; and configures network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution
- Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
- Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution
- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
- Provide in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems
- Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
- Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process
- Configure and manage Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems; install/load operating system software; troubleshoot; maintain integrity; and configure network components, along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Requirements
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years minimum experience, OR no degree + 10 years minimum experience, OR five years of experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Five years of additional Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
