About the role
Join our team in the New Orleans Metro Area as a Mid-Level Civil Engineer. From planning and design through construction, we manage the full project life cycle while continually advancing our capabilities, strengthening our national presence, and investing in the people who power our growth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare roadway, interchange, and drainage construction plans following State DOT and local agency standards.
- Apply standards and analysis techniques described in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO A Policy on the Geometric Design of Streets and Highways, etc.
- Perform engineering calculations pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documents developed.
- Perform drainage analysis with accompanying drainage plans to State DOT standards.
- Effectively communicate with Project Managers regarding technical and financial status of projects, contract modifications, and client invoicing requirements.
- Complete work accurately and in accordance with quality control and quality assurance procedures.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering required; MS preferred.
- LA PE required (or ability to obtain one).
- At least five years of conceptual, preliminary, and final design and plan production experience, as well as familiarity with Louisiana DOTD details and production.
- Experience in the preparation of plans and other contract documents.
- Proficient in MicroStation V8i software, Bentley InRoads, and Civil 3D.
- Detail and goal-oriented, self-starter, and proficient in both verbal and written communications.
