Mid-Level Architect Designer/Interior Designer

About the role

Elaine Santos Design is seeking an interior designer/architect with 4-6 years of project management experience in architecture and interior architecture to join their lower Manhattan studio.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, varying in size
• Responsible for all or some of the project phases including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Custom Millwork Detail, and Shop Drawings Review
• Work closely with clients, vendors, and contractors
• Create and manage construction document sets
• Review shop drawings and drafting interior plans, elevations, and details
• Resolve technical and code issues
• Review contractor RFPs and RFIs

Requirements

• 4-6 years full-time experience at an architecture or interior design firm
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Skilled in producing/managing CD sets
• Strong project management and consultant/contractor coordination experience
• Knowledge of NYC design resources (hard materials, millwork, textiles, plumbing, lighting, hardware, etc.)
• Familiarity with NY/NYC/CT building codes
• Able to source and coordinate finishes, fixtures, furniture, lighting, textiles, and window treatments
• Highly CAD proficient and comfortable in Word, Excel, In-Design, and Photoshop
