About the role

The Manager of IT Projects leads a team of project management and support personnel to complete the IT project portfolio, enabling and supporting business partners and aligning with technology roadmaps. This role ensures capital and expense projects achieve desired objectives on time and on budget through oversight of scope development, execution, vendor management, and risk management. Success requires managing a portfolio of sophisticated projects with a high level of customer focus and collaboration across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective project management practices for scoping, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and execution, supported by methods aligned with the Project Life Cycle.
• Develop, monitor, and control capital and expense budgets within defined portfolio and project targets; manage departmental expenditures, capital spend, and contractor expenses.
• Build and maintain effective relationships across IT and with business partners to successfully complete projects through each stage.
• Recruit, train, and develop team members; establish goals, provide direction, and offer performance feedback.
• Demonstrate leadership as a change agent to improve organizational culture by influencing others.
• Communicate project performance status and metrics to staff, customers, and leadership.
• Manage a team of IT Project Managers handling high and critical projects across IT to deliver value to the organization.
• Provide governance of the project delivery lifecycle, including managing and reporting on the IT Portfolio and capital/deferred expense plans.
• Support program prioritization, cross-team resource management, and portfolio/program/project management.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performance project management team.
• Enhance the project delivery lifecycle and provide reporting, including metrics, health, and status on IT Projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a business-related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years’ IT, project, and program management experience.
• Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and safety prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills.
• Accomplished in project management, governance formulation, team management, and business administration.
• Skilled in project financial management and supporting organizational change.
• Ability to foster and build collaborative working relationships with company partners.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Two (2) years’ supervisory/managerial experience.
• Preferred: Energy industry experience.
