About the role
The Branch Manager will report directly to the Regional Manager and will support direct sales and P&L accountability for the branch. Responsibilities include warehouse operations, coordinating delivery/logistics, inventory management, and office support management such as deposits, credit spreads, COD, and sales/marketing analyses.
Responsibilities
- Achieve branch sales and profitability plan.
- Develop and execute a sales management platform for the sales team.
- Lead, coach, and develop branch sales representatives to achieve personal and branch sales plans.
- Monitor sales, pricing, and profitability levels to optimize customer performance; develop and implement action plans to correct variances.
- Identify and qualify customer leads and assist in the sales development process for new customers.
- Conduct in-depth reviews of branch P&L to ensure cost structure and profit optimization.
- Monitor competitive trends and customer needs; develop strategies for potential changes in sales programs or customer approach.
- Maintain ongoing, effective relationships with key customers within the local market.
- Achieve goals for key product lines and develop strategies to meet plans.
- Implement sales and operations best practices at the assigned branch.
- Participate in establishing and executing branch sales programs and support national marketing/sales initiatives.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process; establish specific sales and operating plans with Regional Management.
- Oversee cash management between the Branch and Regional Credit department; address local customer credit/collection issues.
- Review branch location with Regional Manager to optimize facility for customer service and delivery reach.
Requirements
- Prior sales management and operations experience preferred.
- Strategic thinking skills with strong business analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and people management skills, especially in training and employee development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to train and develop team members.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage diverse responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Track record of successful P&L performance and understanding of profitability drivers preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in a business-related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Experience using JD Edwards preferred.
- Automotive aftermarket leadership experience a plus.
