About the role

The Metrology Technician 2 position is within the O68 METROLOGY SOLUTIONS team at Newport News Shipbuilding. This role requires strong metrology skills and experience in precision measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform precise measurements using various metrology equipment
• Ensure accuracy and consistency in measurement processes
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement measurement strategies
• Document measurement results and maintain accurate records
• Participate in quality assurance and control activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant metrology experience
• Proficiency in metrology equipment and techniques
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required
• Experience with nuclear aircraft carrier or submarine projects is a plus
• Knowledge of naval shipbuilding standards and practices

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this role is $65,000.00 to $81,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
