About the role

Secure the success for medmix in the US and global markets by ensuring reliable, cost effective and efficient availability of medmix products and services. As a Metrologist, you will be responsible for the design, specification, development and implementation of measurement systems for various devices.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate advanced metrology methods, including multi-sensor CMMs, non-contact inspection systems, and advanced sensors and gaging methods
  • Work with minimal supervision/engineering oversight on a moderate level of engineering support tasks
  • Design and implement manufacturing and QC processes, including machinery selection and automation level selection
  • Develop and improve fixtures and new parts
  • Lead the qualification of new measurement and testing equipment
  • Consult and guide site/supplier end users on training and maintenance of new fixtures and equipment
  • Maintain calibration systems, including risk assessments, calibration schedules, and assist in out-of-spec instrument investigations
  • Conduct static and dynamic repeatability studies for measurement fixtures, manufacturing tooling, and inline measurement gauges
  • Evaluate and provide input to inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines
  • Provide hands-on support to manufacturing during prototyping and production to ensure high yield product release
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on aligning processes with future business needs
  • Take ownership as the point of contact for metrology issues and train staff accordingly
  • Support all shifts of 24/7 operations, may need to work off-shift temporarily

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, physics, or mathematical engineering
  • Proven experience working in a similar role, specifically in the metrology field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and analytical mindset
  • Initiative-taking and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience working in GxP laboratories preferred
  • Developing knowledge of the basic principles in various engineering disciplines
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings including GD&T
  • Experience with statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of mechanical inspection methods and tools

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a similar role, specifically in the metrology field
