About the role
Nucor Steel Kingman is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Metallurgist. Principal duties include participating in safety, commercial excellence, and continuous improvement of the rolling and melting processes, as well as driving overall quality improvement throughout the facility. The successful candidate will support process and product development initiatives, training efforts, and the use of statistical process control tools. The Quality team works to identify quality trends, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions that support product quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Participate in safety, commercial excellence, and continuous improvement of the rolling and melting processes
- Drive overall quality improvement throughout the facility
- Support process and product development initiatives
- Support training efforts
- Use statistical process control tools
- Identify quality trends, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Partner with the Roll Mill and Melt Shop to establish clearly defined processes that meet customer expectations
- Support division objectives for safety, quality, productivity, and profitability
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university

Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering
- Steel industry experience
- Experience using SQL, Power BI, ibaAnalyzer or similar for data analysis, reporting, and process monitoring
