About the role
We are seeking a recently graduated or soon-to-be-graduating Metallurgist at our Pogo operation in Alaska. This is a permanent position with extended mine-life and job security. The remuneration package includes bonuses, medical, dental, life, and AD&D insurance, as well as 401k and paid leave.
The opportunity
The Graduate Metallurgist Program is a 2-year initiative designed to apply educational principles in a gold processing environment. It involves working closely with experienced professionals and gaining hands-on experience in various metallurgical duties. Graduates will also spend time with operations, maintenance, and mining departments to understand the entire operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in Metallurgy/Materials or Chemistry from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience working in a mill, mine, or other industrial setting is well regarded.
- Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.

Work schedule & environment
Incumbents must be willing to work a 15-day on, 13-day off schedule, up to 12 hours a day, at a remote campsite. Conditions include harsh weather, varying levels of noise, light, and darkness, and confined work areas. Camp facilities include dining, recreational, and accommodation services, with cell service available via Wi-Fi. A bus service is provided to and from nearby towns.
