Metallurgical Engineer - Foundry

Responsibilities

• Engineer the process: Develop and optimize metallurgical practices for centrifugal casting, from melt preparation to solidification control driving final properties and part performance.
• Collaborate with customers: Translate technical requirements into solutions, provide metallurgical expertise and build strong partnerships.
• Drive innovation: Investigate alloy behavior, microstructure, and mechanical performance to push the boundaries of casting technology.
• Solve challenges: Work side-by-side with production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements that make our processes better, faster and cheaper.
• Lead documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations that influence leadership and customers.
• Champion improvement: Advance efficiency in Melting, Casting And Heat Treatment Operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 2+ years of foundry or casting industry experience preferred; centrifugal casting expertise and AOD experience are highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of stainless steel, nickel, cobalt, and/or copper-based alloys.
• Experience with heat treatment, microstructure analysis, and mechanical testing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and collaborate across departments.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage directly with customers on technical matters.
