About the role
The role is located in the Peoria, Illinois area and involves supporting the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of metallurgical processes within a metals production environment, with a strong focus on iron castings and foundry operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide ownership and continuous improvement of metallurgical processes
- Conduct data extraction and analysis
- Perform failure investigations and root cause problem solving
- Utilize simulation tools to support manufacturing improvements
- Test products, analyze laboratory and production data
- Implement process modifications to ensure compliance with quality and performance requirements
- Build, test, and refine metallurgical processes in both foundry and laboratory environments
- Partner closely with production, quality, and operations teams to improve product performance, reduce defects, and drive overall process efficiency
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- At least three years of professional experience in manufacturing, materials, or process engineering
- Experience in iron, steel, casting, foundry, or metallurgical operations is preferred
- Broad materials engineering background is also considered
