Responsibilities

  • Assist with the handling of raw steel and copper.
  • Operate metal shop machinery, including punch, brake, shear, and saws.
  • Weld sheet metal goods and prepare for coating.
  • Assemble metalwork and handle sheet metal goods.
  • Follow blueprint diagrams.
  • Use hand tools and power tools proficiently for fabrication, including saw cutting and drilling.
  • Cross-train and support other sections of the company as needed.
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years in general mechanical or metal working or associated field.
  • Experience using hand tools and hand power tools.
  • Valid driver’s license (for service-related positions).
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable).

Skills

  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Follow verbal directions to meet production schedules.
  • Proficient in using rulers, scales, tape measures, and calipers.
  • Possess basic tools including gear wrenches, impact gun, torque wrenches, metrics & standard sockets.
  • High dedication to quality of results to avoid rework.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Able to work with minimal direction and achieve objectives.
  • Preferred Skills: Welding certification, forklift experience and/or certification, carpentry skills.

  • Attendance & Punctuality: Maintain 97% attendance rate with minimal tardiness.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This is a FLSA non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis. Project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours, including weekends or holidays.
  • Based on the production floor, requiring standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds, following OSHA standards.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.

Schedule

Monday to Friday & Tuesday to Friday, 4x10 schedule. A $2 shift differential applies.
