Metal Model Maker Journeyperson

About the role

General Motors Pontiac PPO has a need for qualified Metal Model Makers in Pre-Production Machining, Design, Tooling and Stamping Operations. Metal Model Makers will work under minimal supervision and provide a variety of services that support quality pre-production vehicle development and research activities, including tool design and build, part fabrication, body-in-white weld tools, research projects, test lab fixtures, CMM and Scanner support.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures
• Part and fixture inspection/GD&T
• Operate CMM equipment & scanning equipment
• Conduct laser programming using Fast Trim software & laser machine operation
• Perform NX programming and CNC machining
• Perform stamping operations – blank development, die tryout, die handling &
