Job Title: Engineering - MES Application Technician Location: New Brighton, MN Contract duration : 6 Months (Extendable) Pay rate : $21.12/hr on W2 Job Description: We are seeking a MES Application Technician to help create, deploy, and maintain manufacturing applications using the Tulip MES platform. This role works closely with operators, engineers, and IT to digitize shop‐floor processes such as work instructions, quality checks, traceability, and production data collection. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‐on manufacturing or technical professional who enjoys problem‐solving, learning new digital tools, and supporting continuous improvement. Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Development & SupportBuild and update Tulip applications for shop‐floor useConfigure screens, variables, triggers, and tablesTest applications with operators and support deployment to productionTroubleshoot and resolve basic app and data issues Manufacturing Process SupportTranslate manufacturing processes into simple, effective digital workflowsSupport applications for:Work instructionsQuality checks and defect loggingTraceability and data captureObserve operations to identify improvement opportunities Data & Systems IntegrationAssist with data exchange between Tulip and other systems (ERP, databases, devices)Support barcode scanners, tablets, and other shop‐floor hardwareValidate data accuracy and completeness Documentation & Continuous ImprovementCreate basic documentation for applications and changesSupport continuous improvement and digital transformation initiativesParticipate in testing, feedback, and iterative improvement cycles Required QualificationsTechnical & Manufacturing Skills1-3 years of experience in:Manufacturing operationsProduction supportTechnical systems, automation, or IT support in a factory environmentBasic understanding of manufacturing processes (assembly, inspection, production flow)Strong logical thinking and problem‐solving skillsComfort working with computers, tablets, and software tools EducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredTechnical certificate, associate degree, or equivalent hands‐on experience strongly preferred, such as:Manufacturing or Engineering TechnologyIndustrial or Mechanical TechnologyMechatronics or AutomationInformation TechnologyDigital Manufacturing or similar trade/technical programsRelevant shop‐floor and technical experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. Preferred (Nice‐to‐Have) QualificationsExposure to Tulip, MES, or other low‐code platforms (PowerApps, Ignition, Mendix, etc.)Basic programming or scripting experience (C++, JavaScript, Jason, Python, SQL, VBA)Familiarity with:REST APIs or data integrationERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience Key CompetenciesWillingness to learn new technologies quicklyStrong attention to detail and data accuracyAbility to communicate clearly with operators and engineersComfortable working on the shop floorTeam‐oriented with a continuous improvement mindset Why Work with Us?
