About the role
The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Finance Manager will support the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer, M&A Director, and AEG Presents' Executive Leadership in all areas of an acquisition lifecycle. This includes financial and operational analysis, business case modeling, understanding target accounting processes, integration planning, and post-acquisition reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support CFO, CAO, and M&A Director in advancing M&A Finance priorities, conducting thorough financial and operational analysis, and preparing detailed reports and presentations for leadership.
- Design and implement post-acquisition integration plans, focusing on risk assessment and coordination across various departments.
- Prepare internal reports and presentations for AEG Presents' Executive Leadership on acquisition performance and financial trends, including ROI.
- Manage capital account balances, loan balances, and distributable cash for AEG Presents business partners.
- Conduct ad hoc specialized accounting projects, such as impairment analyses and assist with the adoption of new accounting pronouncements.
- Prepare a subset of reports for the annual financial statement audit.
- Collaborate with leadership from Legal, Tax, Corporate Development, and Regional Finance Teams to ensure alignment and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- CPA preferred
- 6-8 years of related work experience, including public accounting experience
- Experience with multiple companies/legal entities and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Direct experience in transaction services and financial due diligence, particularly in buy-side/sell-side diligence
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to interpret and apply accounting literature
- Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking, and strong communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
- Strong organizational skills and teamwork capabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- CPA preferred
- 6-8 years of related work experience, including public accounting experience
- Hands-on experience working with multiple companies/legal entities and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Direct experience in Transaction Services / Financial Due Diligence preferred, including a successful demonstrated track record of buy-side / sell-side diligence execution
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Able to quickly convert technical accounting research and interpretation into a practical solution
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking
- Teamwork and collaborative partner management with good interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills – verbal, written, and scheduling
- Proficient knowledge of, and adaptability to, accounting/operational software systems
- Accuracy at all times, even when working under pressure in meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to work effectively with cross-functional executives in a dynamic environment
