MEP Technician
About the role
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on the University of Indianapolis campus. It involves responding to work orders, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with snow removal.
Responsibilities
- Respond to work orders using the university's work order system
- Maintain and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Assist with snow removal as needed
- Follow supervisor's guidance and direction
- Demonstrate respectful, ethical, and responsible behavior
- Comply with University policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Overtime may be required during peak activity periods
Requirements
- 3 years of commercial experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Diploma in HVAC/R preferred
- Universal EPA certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- Experience in the maintenance field
- Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, electricity, and plumbing
Skills
- Service-oriented
- Knowledge of BMS controls, refrigeration, cooling systems, boilers, burners, and plumbing systems
