About the role
The MEP Technician I assists the Campus Maintenance Engineer in maintaining and repairing building systems including fire/life safety, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
Responsibilities
- Self performs work-order flow, including monitoring building systems operation and performance.
- Operates HVAC and lighting systems through BAS or EMS or ATC.
- Programs BAS for holidays and event schedules.
- Performs tests, inspections, and analysis of data to ensure proper system functioning.
- Performs routine building engineering work and inspections.
- Repairs and replaces HVAC mechanical equipment system components.
- Replaces and repairs electrical building system components such as failed lamps and ballasts.
- Repairs and replaces electronic door hardware and vehicle gate electrical components.
- Assists in managing inventory and fabricating/repairing small structures (metal welding).
- Repairs and replaces HVAC mechanical equipment system components (belt changes, cleaning coils, filter changes).
- Repairs and replaces other equipment such as kitchen cooking equipment, pumps, chillers, water fountains, and ice makers.
- Inspects and tests fire/life safety systems and makes necessary repairs or additions.
- Manages and implements a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan.
- Monitors, assigns, and performs routine PM tasks.
- Revise PM tasks and frequency based on changing requirements or needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certificate from a Trade/Vocational school in HVAC.
- 2+ years related work experience, including supervisory experience.
- Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Experience with Building Automation/Energy Management.
