Service Technician
About the role
The Service Technician position at Electric Pump, LLC is responsible for providing field service, maintenance, troubleshooting, start-up, and repair support for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role involves working directly with customers to inspect, diagnose, and maintain fluid control equipment critical to plant operations. The Service Technician travels regularly to customer sites to perform preventative maintenance, emergency service calls, and equipment upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair fluid handling products
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of pumping equipment during production
- Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic
- Read and interpret pump manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on pumps and equipment
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with three (3) years of mechanical experience. A post-secondary or trade school degree in a Mechanical or Water Environment Technology program, or three to five (3 to 5) years of mechanical experience, is preferred.

Work Environment
This job operates in a typical shop environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. There is also frequent use of power tools including saws and forklift. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
