Mental Health Therapist Intern

About the role

Mentor South Bay provides Early Intervention, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Behavioral Health and Mental Health Outpatient services across Massachusetts and Connecticut. For over 35 years, we've provided a collaborative, team-based approach dedicated to helping children, adults, and families reach their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychosocial assessments under master’s level supervision and transcribes or dictates relevant information for person served records.
• Provides individual, couple, family and/or group therapies and crisis interventions using various treatment modalities as outlined in state/local contract and/or state licensing standards.
• Engages in mental health consultation and collaboration with stakeholders and treatment team members.
• Develops individualized treatment under the supervision of master’s level clinician/supervisor, working in coordination with interdisciplinary teams, which may or may not include other social work organizations, legal entities, healthcare facilities, school and/or other community health providers.
• Develops and coordinates discharge plan based on treatment.
• Supports individual/family in connection to community resources that would be beneficial to person’s identified and/or aftercare needs.
• Conducts regularly scheduled face-to-face meetings with the person served and caretaker (if applicable) in order to monitor progress, discuss treatment strategies and to provide supportive individualized services, under the oversight of a licensed supervisor.
• Maintains current, adequate medical record documentation in the electronic medical record of the person being served.
• Attends regular staff meetings, clinical meetings, training, and one-on-one sessions with direct supervisor in support of the provision of quality clinical care.
• Attends court hearings as directed by subpoena.
• Performs other related duties and activities as required.
