Mental Health Technician (MHT) - PRN Days | Voyages Conroe

Schedule

• PRN Requirements
• Tier 2: 6 shifts per month
• Tier 3: 8 shifts per month
• Includes -1 full weekend per month, 2 major, and 1 minor holiday

Responsibilities

• Observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan
• Welcomeing new patients through specific admission protocols
• Assisting with the patient discharge process
• Maintaining direct patient observation
• Leading patient education, community, goal, and activity groups
• Aiding nursing staff by taking vital signs and helping patients perform ADLs
• Frequently responding to a variety of patient situations such as codes, behavioral outbursts, attempts to introduce contraband, and medical issues under the supervision of the Registered Nurse
• Adjusting therapeutic approach based on acuity, age, gender, and cultural considerations

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) preferred, required by state where the hospital resides
• Current BLS certification required
• Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards required
• No prior experience required
• Two to three years of experience in an acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit preferred
