Job Summary

The Mental Health Professional III role delivers exceptional psychiatric treatment to patients and their loved ones. Responsibilities include evaluations, psycho-education, group activities, treatment planning, discharge mapping, and therapeutic counseling.

Responsibilities

• Maintains effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and continuum of care providers.
• Maintains professionalism and uses good communication skills to interact with peers, staff, patients, and families, resolving conflicts.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to maintain clear professional boundaries with peers, patients, and families.
• Provides education and guidance about state commitment processes, abuse reporting requirements, the duty to warn, and guardianship processes.
• Serves as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives, and other parties as appropriate about behavioral services.
• Reviews, coaches, and helps with the training of new staff/interns as assigned within approved practice and program guidelines.
• Participates in developing department goals and clinical programming.
• Performs utilization review as assigned.
• Helps with Process and Quality Improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Other-Fingerprint Required.
• Masters Degree (LCSW) Clinical Social Worker, (LMFT) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or (LPC/LMHC) Licensed Professional/Mental Health Counselor.
• No Travel Required.
