Job Summary and Qualifications

The Mental Health Professional II is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient-focused care by providing supervised mental health services to patients and their loved ones. They conduct assessments, offer psycho-education, lead process groups, develop treatment plans, and facilitate therapeutic counseling sessions using evidence-based interventions in one-on-one, family, and group therapy.

What You Will Do in This Role

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate the care of psychiatric patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding treatment instructions.
• Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and ability to plan and facilitate individual, group and family psychoeducational and process groups.
• Develop treatment plans and attend treatment planning meetings and reviews on an ongoing basis.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess and coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge.
• Provide guidance on complex issues.
• Conduct post-discharge follow-up as indicated.
• Facilitate and participate in Community Education, Activities and Support Groups, as appropriate to scope.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a Human Services related field (Social Work, Mental Health, or Counseling).
• Advanced educational preparation or experience in the area of clinical practice and/or management.
• American Heart Association BLS (within 30 days of hire).
• Crisis Intervention Prevention (CPI) training required (within 30 days of hire).

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Other-Fingerprint Required.
• Masters Degree.
• No Travel Required.
