Mental Health Professional II Masters

About the Role

The Mental Health Professional II delivers exceptional, patient-focused care by providing supervised mental health services to patients and their loved ones. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, offering psycho-education, leading process groups, developing treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic counseling sessions using evidence-based interventions in one-on-one, family, and group therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate the care of psychiatric patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding treatment instructions.
• Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and ability to plan and facilitate individual, group, and family psychoeducational and process groups.
• Develop treatment plans and attend treatment planning meetings and reviews on an ongoing basis.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess and coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge.
• Provide guidance on complex issues and conduct post-discharge follow-up as indicated.
• Facilitate and participate in Community Education, Activities, and Support Groups, as appropriate to scope.
• Conduct one-on-one, group, and family psychoeducational and process groups.
• Assess environment and patient’s safety status and report/respond to actual and potential safety issues or changes in the patient's condition.
• Identify risk factors, screening criteria, and interventions for patients with special precautions (e.g., suicide, homicide, falls, elopement).
• Complete assessments, group notes, and all other documentation promptly and in compliance with requirements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a Human Services related field (Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or Counseling).
• Advanced educational preparation or experience in the area of clinical practice and/or management.
• American Heart Association BLS certification (within 30 days of hire).
• Crisis Intervention Prevention (CPI) training (within 30 days of hire).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Fingerprinting required.
