Mental Health Practitioner, Substance Use Disorder Specialist
About the role
The Mental Health Practitioner, Substance Use Disorder Specialist will be part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to making a difference in the community. They will serve as a resource to other team members on issues related to Substance Use Disorders (SUD), motivational interviewing, and internal and external resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation, screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment, for patients and their social networks
- Use motivational interviewing techniques
- Provide brief crisis interventions and brief therapy
- Participate in case reviews
- Chart patient contact in the electronic health record
- Prepare information requested by outside agencies such as DSHS, Social Security Administration, and Seattle Housing Authority
- Supportive interventions to assist people to develop their fullest potential (employment, continuing education, housing, community integration, developing social supports, etc.) either directly or as a referral
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences, such as psychology, psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, vocational or educational counseling, or social work OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or a behavioral science AND three years’ of experience in the direct delivery of professional mental health care
- A Valid/active License as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with WA state

Compensation, Benefits And Position Details
Pay Range Minimum: $36.26 hourly Pay Range Maximum $51.88 hourly
