Scope
To evaluate and monitor the mental health needs of targeted students and families, and to coordinate and provide direct and indirect services to optimize academic performance.
About the Role
The role of the Mental Health Specialist will be to support student well-being at their assigned schools in elementary and/or secondary settings. This role involves providing individual and group counseling, promoting mental health awareness, and collaborating with staff and families to foster a supportive school environment.
Qualifications
Education and Relevant Experience:
- Required: Master's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Preferred/Desired: Three (3) years relevant work experience encompassing familiarity with youth counseling, social services coordination and referrals, and brief counseling interventions. Previous experience at a supervisory level preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Required: Licensed mental health counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed psychologist, or other clinician licensed or certified by the Florida Department of Health or Florida Department of Education.
- Required: Valid State driver's license.
