Mental Health Practitioner Float - Residential

About the role

Join our team as a Mental Health Practitioner Float, providing professional, quality program services to clients served by Community Foundations IRTS, Carlson Drake House IRTS, ReEntry House IRTS, and ReEntry Crisis. This role emphasizes working with clients in community-based intensive treatment settings, directly delivering services to assist clients in achieving their goals using evidence-based practices adapted for the agency and the client's specific needs.

This position operates fully onsite at our IRTS facilities in Maplewood, Bloomington, and Minneapolis, MN.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to residents, including staff coverage and ensuring facility security and resident supervision.
• Complete all paperwork, reports, and charting contemporaneously and in an organized manner.
• Co-facilitate or facilitate psychoeducational groups.
• Administer medications under the supervision of the facility's nurse (upon successful completion of required medication test).
• Conduct house meetings for residents in collaboration with Peer Recovery Specialist.
• Assist therapists in developing treatment plans and orienting new admissions to residential care.
• Teach and develop independent living skills (e.g., relaxation, conversation skills, housekeeping, budgeting).
• Identify individuals prone to behavior emergencies and assist in developing appropriate programming.
• Help defuse and de-escalate potential behavior emergencies.
• Assist with discharge planning and maintain regular work hours.
• Maintain familiarity and compliance with applicable Minnesota statutes or rules (e.g., DHS variance, MDH SLF, MS 253B, Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults, Duty to Warn, Minnesota Data Practices Act).
• Participate actively in professional growth and development, including supervision and appropriate professional behavior.
• Transport clients in the community and administer BACs and UDs as scheduled or according to the client's treatment plan.
• Utilize crisis assessment tools for suicidal or aggressive behaviors and consult with on-call supervisor or therapist as needed.
• Work effectively and professionally with other treatment team members and attend all scheduled team meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences or a related field.
• 2,000 hours of supervised experience working with individuals with mental illness and substance abuse treatment.

Preferred: Education and/or experience providing supported employment and education services.

Pay

$27.48 per hour for evening shifts (4 pm - 12 am) and $28.99 per hour for overnight shifts (12 am - 8 am).

Schedule

32 hours per week, with the majority of scheduled hours falling between Friday and Monday. Schedule is determined on a monthly basis.
