Role: Mental Health Intake Nurse
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychosocial and risk assessments
- Gather medical and psychiatric histories
- Triage acuity
- Coordinate safe admissions, transfers, or referrals
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, emergency department and inpatient teams, and social workers to develop initial care plans
- Ensure accurate documentation
- Educate patients and families
- Support a safe, therapeutic environment based on evidence-based and trauma-informed practices
