Mental Health Intake Nurse

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical intake assessments and triage mental health crises.
• Gather psychosocial histories and perform suicide and risk screenings.
• Verify insurance and coordinate admissions ensuring safety and compassion.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and emergency teams to determine appropriate care levels.
• Educate patients and families on treatment processes.
• Ensure regulatory documentation and facilitate smooth transitions to inpatient, outpatient, or community services.
• Uphold a patient-first, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive approach.
