Mental Health Counselor Masters - Psych Adult

About the role

This is a Per Diem/On-Call, Variable Shift position, could be any days with Sunday and Saturday. The Mental Health Professional (MHP) is responsible for providing clinically therapeutic programs and treatment in the inpatient behavioral health units. Under the supervision of the manager/director and in collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment team, the MHP is responsible for providing various modalities of treatment from a trauma informed clinical model that can include group, individual and family therapy. The MHP is responsible for the psychosocial interventions established in the patient treatment plan. The MHP will use their education and training to assist in stabilizing and treating patients during their stay on the unit. The MHP provides feedback and input to the multidisciplinary team regarding their assessment of the patient strengths, capacities, and responsiveness to the treatment. In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, the MHP will assist in supporting discharge planning efforts and interventions that support rapid stabilization and movement of the patient back into the community or the next level of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinically therapeutic programs and treatment in the inpatient behavioral health units.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team to provide various modalities of treatment from a trauma informed clinical model.
• Assist in stabilizing and treating patients during their stay on the unit.
• Provide feedback and input to the multidisciplinary team regarding patient strengths, capacities, and responsiveness to treatment.
• Aid in discharge planning efforts and interventions that support rapid stabilization and movement of the patient back into the community or the next level of care.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other mental health related field from an accredited school, or from a school in candidacy status by the appropriate higher education council.
• LCSW with the state of Oregon required.
• Licensure as an LICSW in the state of Washington required as needed based on work location(s).
• OrMaster's Degree in Recreational therapy from an accredited school, or from a school in candidacy status by the appropriate higher education council. CTRS national credential is required.
• Licensure in accordance with the appropriate Oregon state board is required.
• OrMaster's Degree in Creative/Expressive Arts from an accredited school, or from a school in candidacy status by the appropriate higher education council. Eligible for licensure as LPC or LMFT in accordance with the appropriate Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
• LPC or LMFT licensure with the appropriate Oregon state board is required.
• 2 years relevant experience in an inpatient mental health setting.
• 2 years: Adult Unit: Experience with adult population preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Child and Adolescent Unit: Experience with child/adolescent population preferably in the inpatient setting.
• Senior Unit: Experience with geriatric population preferably in an inpatient setting.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other mental health related field from an accredited school, or from a school in candidacy status by the appropriate higher education council. Additional requirements include LCSW with the state of Oregon, Licensure as an LICSW in the state of Washington, 2 years relevant experience in an inpatient mental health setting, and experience in an inpatient setting with adult, child/adolescent, and senior populations as applicable.

Skills required include a strong background in trauma informed clinical models, proficiency in providing various therapeutic modalities, ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and experience in stabilizing and treating patients in an inpatient setting.

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The base pay range is $37.84 - $58.75.
