Mental Health Clinician (Registered)

About the role

The Mental Health Clinician (Registered) is the professional intern level classification which provides mental health treatment services for mental, emotional and co-occurring disorders, including substance abuse and/or developmental disability and chemical dependency disorders in inpatient or outpatient settings, including assessment, diagnosis, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, non-medical psychotherapy, and initiation of involuntary holds; provides and oversees both treatment and continuing care; prepares reports and maintains records related to client or client services.

• Provide mental health treatment services in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Assess, diagnose, and initiate involuntary holds for clients.
• Counsel clients individually and in groups.
• Prepare reports and maintain records related to client services.
• Oversee treatment and continuing care for clients.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• Possession of a Master’s degree in a field of study approved by the California State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners.
• Licensing, certification, and registration requirements: Acceptance by the California State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as a candidate for licensure (registered intern/associate) as either a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFTI) or Associate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (ALCSW).

Qualifications

• Driver’s License: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver’s License may be required at the time of appointment.

Skills

• Ability to provide non-medical psychotherapy to clients in accordance with State law and regulation as individual licensing permits.
• Ability to travel independently to various work sites and client residences.

$98,957.27 - $120,283.18 Annually
