About the role
The Solano County Public Defender’s Office is seeking a Mental Health Clinician (Licensed) to join the team. This role is funded for two years and is part of a grant aimed at improving access to mental health services for clients in need.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health assessments and provide trauma-informed support
- Meet with adult clients, conduct psychosocial assessments, and prepare reports
- Connect clients with appropriate community-based programs and services
- Provide therapeutic interventions to assist clients struggling to connect with services
- Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans for clients
- Work closely with other professionals in the public defender’s office to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
- Current licensure by the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
- Experience in mental health-related settings providing direct services to mentally or emotionally disabled persons
- Strong background in understanding and implementing patient treatment plans
- Ability to manage competing demands and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of local regulatory guidelines and the ability to adhere to them
Qualifications
- Two years of post-Master’s degree supervised experience in a mental health related setting
- Pass a background investigation and comply with child abuse reporting laws
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in using technology and software relevant to mental health services
