About the Role
As Memory Care Director, you'll provide leadership for our memory care neighborhood by combining operational excellence with a deep understanding of dementia care. Working alongside our Executive Director, Health & Wellness Director, and interdisciplinary leadership team, you'll help create an environment where residents thrive, families feel supported, caregivers grow professionally, and innovation is encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Leading, coaching, and developing an exceptional memory care team
- Creating and maintaining a therapeutic, person-centered environment for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia
- Developing individualized behavioral support strategies that improve resident quality of life
- Partnering with families through education, communication, and compassionate support
- Collaborating with nursing, physicians, therapists, hospice, pharmacy, and other healthcare partners
- Evaluating and continuously improving the neighborhood using evidence-based dementia care principles
- Ensuring compliance with community policies, Arizona regulations, and quality standards
- Coordinating staffing and daily operations to meet residents' needs
- Leading quality assurance and continuous performance improvement initiatives
- Helping create systems that elevate—not simply maintain—the memory care experience

Qualifications
Required
- Minimum three years of leadership experience in memory care, assisted living, geriatric nursing, or a related senior living setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia and person-centered care
- Current Arizona Driver License with an acceptable driving record
- Active Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to obtain and maintain:
- Arizona Assisted Living Caregiver Certification
- Arizona Memory Care Services Training Certificate
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Preferred
- Experience leading a memory care neighborhood or dementia program
- Experience developing behavioral care plans and coaching care teams
- Specialized dementia certifications or training (CDP, Validation, Montessori, Positive Approach to Care, Teepa Snow, Eden Alternative, or similar)
- Experience implementing quality improvement initiatives and staff education programs
