Membership Operations Intern
JOB SUMMARY: The Membership department is dedicated to providing world-class service and delivering unique experiences and benefits to Utah Jazz, Utah Mammoth, and Delta Center event patrons. The Membership Operations Intern will assist in furthering the mission of the department and learn aspects of sports and event management, hospitality, relationship management, and service strategies. Work will be primarily at the team offices in Sandy during office hours, at Delta Center for Jazz and Utah Mammoth games, and at additional events as assigned.
Schedule
Expected hours will range from 25-27 hours per week, not exceeding 29 hours per week. The internship begins September 7th, 2026, and runs through the end of the 2026/27 Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth Seasons.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Operations Manager with planning and executing events, gifting programs, and ongoing team initiatives.
- Assist with day-of-event operations including setup, guest flow, ticket scanning, troubleshooting issues, and post-event breakdown.
- Help track and organize inventory for gifting, event supplies, and team materials, including receiving shipments, restocking, and preparing items for distribution.
- Assist with internal team needs such as preparing materials, assembling gift packages, printing signage, and coordinating logistics across departments.
- Contribute to project timelines and checklists by updating task status, flagging issues, and communicating progress to the Senior Operations Manager.
- Support the creation and maintenance of basic documentation (run-of-show, packing lists, post-event notes) to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Provide on-site support during events by greeting guests, answering questions, and directing attendees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Present yourself in a confident and professional manner in both appearance and communication, representing the organization’s brand and values.
- Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented attitude that is friendly and contagious to those around you, even in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
- Assist the SEG Membership team and other internal partners with operational and administrative tasks as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of events, gifting, and team initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, including Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and enthusiasm about working in a sports-related field.
- Self-starter who is also comfortable with learning and collaborating in a dynamic team environment.
- Primary work location will be the SEG team offices located at the South Town Mall and at Delta Center.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
- Must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
- Physical requirements may include lifting approximately 30 pounds and standing/walking for long periods of time.
