Membership Experience Coordinator (Hardin Co, KY & Surrounding Areas)
About the Role
As a Membership Experience Coordinator, you will host events and use sales techniques to recruit new members while providing support to current volunteers in your assigned geographic area. This position covers the following counties: Hardin, LaRue, Washington, Marion, Taylor, Green, Meade, Breckinridge, Hancock, Daviess, and McLean. All applicants must live within the assigned territory.
No two days are alike! Your responsibilities may include planning recruitment strategies, scheduling events, hosting informational meetings, attending community events, building relationships with schools and partners, making check-in calls to volunteers, distributing flyers, leading activities with girls, managing logistics (e.g., Girl Scout cookies), problem-solving for troop leaders, and meeting with key volunteers. You will work from home and in the field, traveling within your assigned area with a flexible, variable schedule that includes some nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Recruit new members using sales techniques and event hosting
- Support and retain current volunteers through exceptional customer service
- Plan and execute recruitment strategies and seasonal events
- Host informational meetings for parents and community partners
- Represent Girl Scouts at booths during community events
- Build and maintain relationships with schools and local partners
- Conduct check-in calls with volunteers and troop leaders
- Distribute promotional materials (e.g., flyers) to schools
- Lead activities with girls and assist with logistical tasks (e.g., cookie distribution)
- Problem-solve for troop leaders and attend meetings with key volunteers
- Model the Girl Scout mission, promise, and law
- Network and make connections within the community
- Make phone calls as needed for outreach and follow-up
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Sales, fundraising, community outreach, or related experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Comfortable speaking with adults and children in small and large settings
- Self-directed, goal-oriented, and adaptable
- Organized and able to create and manage your own schedule
- Positive, patient, and a team player
- Willingness to model the Girl Scout mission, promise, and law
- Proficient in email, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), and learning new applications/platforms
- Able to understand, retain, and follow processes
- Access to reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance
- Conveniently located to access the Owensboro and Elizabethtown, Kentucky areas
