About the role
Boyce Thompson Arboretum is Arizona's oldest and largest botanical garden, founded in 1924 by mining pioneer William Boyce Thompson. Located on 374 acres at the base of Picket Post Mountain and bordering the Tonto National Forest in Superior, Arizona, the Arboretum offers a unique work environment where you can wear hiking boots to work and immerse yourself in nature.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the monthly membership renewal program, including acquisition, renewal, upgrade, and retention strategies.
- Support administrative tasks related to membership and development programs, such as data entry into CRM systems, daily mail log support, and gift acknowledgment process.
- Plan and implement membership events and engagements, and support the engagement of members through these events.
- Answer inquiries in person, phone, or email, and provide high-level stewardship and relationship management.
- Manage a portfolio of donors and members ($250–$1,000), focusing on cultivation, retention, solicitation, upgrades, and renewal strategies.
- Represent Boyce Thompson Arboretum in the community, as needed, and adhere to AFP Code of Ethical Standards.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field; or 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with fundraising and special events.
- Experience in membership services within a nonprofit.
- Experience with donor databases, such as Altru, Blackbaud, or Virtuous.
- Experience in creating digital communications and graphic design in Canva or Constant Contact.
