Member Engagement Lead

About the role

To provide excellent customer service in a professional and knowledgeable manner while improving the lives of members through healthy living, youth development and social responsibility. This is an in-person, highly visible role designed to maximize member interaction both at the membership desk and wellness area. You will work in a fast-paced, friendly environment where you build relationships with staff, guests, and members from children to seniors.

Responsibilities

• Greet all persons who enter the facility and refer/direct them to the proper department.
• Act as cashier, answer phones, and give tours.
• Assist in membership recruitment and retention efforts.
• Perform administrative tasks and register members into programs and memberships.
• Communicate between departments and report issues to the appropriate person while keeping the team informed as Manager on Duty (MOD).
• Handle member complaints and apply effective problem-solving to reach positive outcomes.
• Create a warm and welcoming environment for members and program participants.
• Demonstrate the Y’s Christian principles of love, honesty, respect, responsibility, and service.
• Build authentic relationships to enhance individual and team performance.
• Assess, minimize, and prevent risk while adhering to safety standards.
• Meet attendance expectations, follow procedures, and maintain required certifications.

Requirements

• 2+ years of customer service experience.
• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Availability: Monday-Thursday 5 AM to 9 PM; Friday 5 AM to 8 PM; Saturday 7 AM to 5 PM; Sunday 12 to 4 PM (weekend availability is mandatory).

Pay

$17.63 per hour.
