Role Overview

The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living support under supervision, ensuring age-appropriate physical and psychological care per care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, administer delegated medications, and document care outcomes.
  • Support psycho-social needs, facilitate transfers and mobility, and promote participation in wellness and recreational activities.
  • Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and food-related tasks to maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Communicate resident condition changes to charge nurses and collaborate with care team members.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age of 18.
  • Prior clinical or long-term care experience preferred.
  • Must hold valid CNA certification and complete required continuing education annually.
  • Ability to follow state-specific certification and medication aide requirements.
  • Strong communication, compassion, and attention to detail skills.
