Role Overview
The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living support under supervision, ensuring age-appropriate physical and psychological care per care plans.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Obtain and record vital signs, administer delegated medications, and document care outcomes.
- Support psycho-social needs, facilitate transfers and mobility, and promote participation in wellness and recreational activities.
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and food-related tasks to maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Communicate resident condition changes to charge nurses and collaborate with care team members.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age of 18.
- Prior clinical or long-term care experience preferred.
- Must hold valid CNA certification and complete required continuing education annually.
- Ability to follow state-specific certification and medication aide requirements.
- Strong communication, compassion, and attention to detail skills.
