Medication Aide - Part-Time

CountryHouse Cedar Rapids, an Agemark Senior Living community in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team. At Agemark, we create welcoming senior living communities where residents feel at home and team members feel supported and appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Safely administer medications according to physician orders and residents’ care plans.
• Accurately document medication administration and maintain required records.
• Observe residents for changes in condition, side effects, or concerns and promptly report them to nursing staff.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living while providing compassionate, respectful care.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and fellow team members.
• Help create a positive, supportive environment where residents feel valued and cared for.

Requirements

• Active 40-hour Medication Aide certification or equivalent based on Iowa requirements.
• Completion of a department-approved medication aide or medication manager course and passing the required exam before administering medications.
• Assessment by a licensed healthcare professional prior to beginning medication administration responsibilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to serve older adults.
• Basic computer skills for medication tracking and documentation.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
