About the Role

The Medical Technologist I performs routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood and body fluids to support patient care. This role involves ensuring accurate results by following quality control protocols, maintaining instruments, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood and body fluids
• Perform instrument checks and troubleshoot malfunctions
• Support regulatory compliance through data collection and proficiency testing
• Teach new staff and perform phlebotomy as needed
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient laboratory operations
• Maintain accurate records and ensure safety protocols are followed
• Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure quality control

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science
• Certification via ASCP, AMT, or AAB required
• 0-2 years of acute care laboratory experience
• Strong understanding of lab procedures, quality control, and safety
• Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and record-keeping
