About the role

This position is available as a part-time, benefits-eligible role at Department 60478 IL ACL Laboratories - Trinity: Core Lab Status.

Responsibilities

  • Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated.
  • Makes necessary adjustments to workflow to complete work in an appropriate timeframe.
  • Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity, and appropriateness.
  • Follows prescribed policy in the reporting and notification of test results.
  • Monitors and maintains instruments and equipment, documenting calibration and maintenance.
  • Documents quality control results and takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Recognizes and corrects test or instrument malfunctions, or notifies supervisors as needed.
  • Participates in internal and external proficiency testing.
  • Performs specialty testing in areas including transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry.
  • Supports disease-specific accreditation goals by meeting turnaround time objectives.
  • Provides support and timely, accurate results for critical care departments during high acuity events.

Requirements

  • Licensure, registration, and/or certification: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT) within 1 year.
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field.
  • No experience required.

Pay

Pay range is $24.10 - $42.85 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.

Schedule

PRN day shift hours with start times between 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 a.m., working an 8-hour shift. Flexible training hours are also available.
