Job Summary and Qualifications

  • ASCP or AMT are required within 6 months of hire. ASCP is the preferred certification.
  • Continued employment will be based on valid certification.
  • A college graduate or equivalent who has passed a certification examination for Medical Technologist by ASCP or AMT or has completed an accredited MLT program with ASCP Board Certification is also accepted.
  • Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired but not necessary.

Qualifications

  • An associate degree in related science required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in related science preferred.
  • Thorough understanding and application of the MT practice essential due to the intense field of critical patient testing.
  • Maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols.
  • Perform required quality control and function verification of equipment.
