Duties Description

  • Conducting physical examinations
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
  • Diagnosing and treating medical conditions
  • Prescribing medications, therapies, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care
  • Modifying treatment as needed
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and disciplines
  • Maintaining medical documentation consistent with agency, State, and federal requirements
  • Participating in discharge planning
  • Collaborating with other providers and disciplines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates from outside State Service must be licensed to practice medicine in New York State and certified by ABMS in their specialty.
  • Candidates from within State Service must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional Comments

Earn up to 50% of salary by volunteering for evening, night, and weekend coverage.

Regular work week is 40 hours.
