Duties Description
- Conducting physical examinations
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Diagnosing and treating medical conditions
- Prescribing medications, therapies, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care
- Modifying treatment as needed
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and disciplines
- Maintaining medical documentation consistent with agency, State, and federal requirements
- Participating in discharge planning
- Collaborating with other providers and disciplines
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates from outside State Service must be licensed to practice medicine in New York State and certified by ABMS in their specialty.
- Candidates from within State Service must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Additional Comments
Earn up to 50% of salary by volunteering for evening, night, and weekend coverage.
Regular work week is 40 hours.
