Medical Screener - Reception Technician (Customer Service) (Bilingual – English/Spanish)

About the role

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. Assists qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing health history, answering medical questions, and performing health screening procedures like blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature. May also educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.

Responsibilities

• Conducts screening procedures including health history assessment and medical questions
• Performs health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature
• Collects samples for hematocrit and total protein levels
• May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products
• Answers caller questions and transfers calls to appropriate staff
• Notifies staff of donor reactions during or after the pheresis process
• Maintains accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system
• Understands and follows policies and procedures related to hyper immune programs
• Maintains a clean and efficient work environment
• Ensures sufficient supplies and forms are available
• Follows HSE and OSHA policies and procedures
• Promotes safety in all actions
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations
• Other qualifications or responsibilities may apply based on local legal and/or educational requirements

Pay

The expected base pay for this position at hiring is $18.98/hour - $26.57/hour. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies, and other relevant factors.
