NaphCare is hiring a Medical Scheduler to join our team of medical professionals at the Arizona Department of Corrections - Safford in Safford, AZ. This role involves working alongside correctional officers and healthcare staff to schedule off-site appointments for a diverse patient population.

This is a unique position where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of incarcerated individuals by ensuring they receive necessary medical care.
Responsibilities
- Schedule various medical appointments, including on-site clinic visits and off-site specialist appointments, as recommended by medical staff.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, including entering consultation requests into the system and managing patient information.
- Arrange transportation for inmates to and from appointments, ensuring timely and secure transfers.
- Effectively communicate with healthcare staff, patients, and other relevant parties regarding appointments, scheduling changes, and other medical information.
- Adhere to all relevant security protocols, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize computer systems for scheduling, data entry, and report generation, often handling large volumes of data.
- Perform additional duties and specific projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Prior training in a medical office setting, scheduling medical appointments, and working with medical records preferred.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and various types of medical specialties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to non-pristine environments and manage stressful situations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Integrity, professionalism, and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
